Ironmen Cheerleading

The North Pittsburgh Catholic Ironmen offer Cheerleading for Catholic elementary students in 1st through 8th grade. Cheerleading is open to students from Aquinas Academy in Gibsonia, Blessed Francis Seelos Academy in Wexford, Blessed Trinity Academy in Glenshaw, Butler Catholic in Butler, Holy Cross Academy in Ross Township, Holy Sepulcher in Middlesex Township, Saint Gregory in Zelienople, or Saint Kilian in Cranberry Township.

Practice Schedule

Start of Practice

  • Practices begin in late July and run for approximately three weeks.
  • Sessions are typically held Monday through Thursday at 6:30 PM.
  • All practices take place at North Catholic High School, in the grassy area in front of the main school building.

Transition to Regular Season

  • After the initial three‑week practice period, regular practices begin and cheerleaders start cheering at weekend games.
  • Cheerleaders  arrive early on game days for warm‑ups and a brief practice before kickoff.

Communication

    • Each team’s head coach will provide weekly schedules, updates, and any changes through TeamSnap.

Game Schedule

Games are played on Saturdays, Sundays, or both, depending on league scheduling. The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh typically assigns most games on Sundays, with Ironmen home games scheduled between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

The regular season runs from August through mid‑October, followed by a two‑round diocesan playoff, culminating in the Championship Game in late October.

Cheerleaders cheer at both home and away games.

All Ironmen home games are played at J.C. Stone Field in North Park.
