Ironmen Football
The North Pittsburgh Catholic Ironmen offer competitive tackle football for Catholic elementary students in 2nd through 8th grade. Ironmen is open to students from Aquinas Academy in Gibsonia, Blessed Francis Seelos Academy in Wexford, Blessed Trinity Academy in Glenshaw, Butler Catholic in Butler, Holy Cross Academy in Ross Township, Holy Sepulcher in Middlesex Township, Saint Gregory in Zelienople, or Saint Kilian in Cranberry Township.
Our program is built on teaching the fundamentals of football, promoting sportsmanship, and developing strong character. We prioritize player safety and uphold the values of the Catholic faith in every aspect of our mission.
Developmental Team
For student Athletes in 2nd-4th grade.
Junior Varsity Team
For Student Athletes in 5th and 6th Grade.
Varsity Team
For Student Athletes in 7th and 8th Grade.
Practice Schedule
Regular season practices begin in mid to late July.
Pre‑Season (First 2–3 Weeks)
- Monday–Friday: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Once School Begins
- Tuesday–Thursday: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM (unless a Saturday game is scheduled)
After Labor Day
- Weeknight practices shift to 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Practices are primarily held on the upper field at North Catholic High School. Each team’s head coach will share specific weekly schedules and updates through TeamSnap.
Game Schedule
Games are played on Saturdays, Sundays, or both, depending on league scheduling. The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh typically assigns most games on Sundays, with Ironmen home games scheduled between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
The regular season runs from August through mid‑October, followed by a two‑round diocesan playoff, culminating in the Championship Game in late October.
All Ironmen home games are played at J.C. Stone Field in North Park.
